Teddy’s Juneteenth Speech: It’s Time to Heal America Together

US Congressional candidate Teddy Fikre, who is running to represent Virginia’s 8th CD, was the keynote speaker at the Black Employees Council’s Peace Rally. Teddy gave an impassioned speech about the need fully account for the legacy of slavery and racism in order to move towards a path of healing for America.

However, unlike too many politicians who keep ripping the wounds of the past in order to enrich themselves and vilify “others” to perpetuate the status quo while doing nothing about the root causes of of social inequalities, Teddy talks about the urgent need to tackle racism through the prism of unity. If you appreciate this message of solidarity and empathy, share the video and this article using #HealAmericaTogether

This coming Tuesday, Teddy will be featured at Busboys and Poets in Shirlington located at 4251 Campbell Ave, Arlington, VA. The event will start at 7:00 PM and is free for the general public. This is a great way to find out more about where Teddy stands on the issues and to ask him any questions that come to mind. You can RSVP at [email protected] but walk-ins are also welcomed.
